What's New
Jackson, Mississippi is undergoing an urban revitalization, with the Jackson Convention Complex two new hotels within walking distance to the Convention Complex and the repair of dozens of older buildings.

The Jackson’s Farish Street Historic District, a 125 acre area, late 19th century grid-patterned community, is also undergoing a reformation. Visitors who go on a walking tour of Farish Street will see the many layers of history found in this district, including historic Blues sites and vernacular architecture.

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame is the perfect attraction for any sports lover. The Wall of Fame features the feats and memorabilia of Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame members who excelled in amateur and professional sports, from broadcasting to football, from tennis to basketball. Touch-screen television kiosks allow museum visitors to access archival footage, achievement data, biographical information, and more than 500 interviews with famous Mississippi athletes like Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, Archie Manning, Ralph Boston, and Dizzy Dean. From Mississippi's involvement in the re-birth of the Olympic movement at the beginning of the 20th Century to the present via pictures, light boxes and laser disc presentation. A special display of all Mississippi Olympic medal winners is listed on the victory stand in the exhibit.

Located on histories Congress Street, the 930 Blues Café preserves the Mississippi Delta Blues legacy.
